From Margo Chase I learned that not everything has to be set in stone and that the end product of a project may be different from the idea in the beginning. Things in life and in design change as time goes on and therefor the thought process and ideas about a project may change as well, and that's okay. Margo made great connections through the music business and her enthusiasm and commitment was inspiring to me. Moving through her design career she developed a love for typography and uses many sources for new inspiration when working on different projects. Some of her favorite resources are old typography books. Her love of antique books and design reminds me to appreciate previous art and to take advantage of as many sources of inspiration as possible.
Sean Adams expressed in his interview that having an education is very important. Sean works with people who did not graduate with a graphic design degree but did complete their education. Through education itself there is a wide variety of exposure to art and design and going to an art school is not critical to those who want to obtain a degree in art or design. Sean explained that having an understanding of previous decades and the art within them is helpful when collaborating with artists about new projects. To his seniors hoping to create an art portfolio, Sean advises them to put together something simple and not too detailed.
